Drink for a cause — your pets will thank you.
What could be better than wine, summer sunshine and man’s best friend? Woodinville Wine Cellars is hosting Canines & Wine, a fundraiser and wine tasting to benefit dogs and cats at Homeward Pet Adoption Center. Homeward Pet is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter that gives homeless animals a second chance.
Homeward Pet finds homes for 1,400 animals a year in addition to providing spay and neuter services. Their adoption fees only cover a small fraction of the cost of caring for each animal—every animal taken in by Homeward Pet is spayed or neutered, microchipped, and given vaccines and preventative medication, as well as given extra care if needed. They can only continue to provide this high quality of care with the help of donations.
That’s where you come in. All the proceeds from the tasting and wine sales (there are discounts on half-case and case purchases) at Canines & Wine go to Homeward Pet.
You can also donate dog and cat food or anything on their “wish list,” like collars, leashes, dog treats, trash bags, and cleaning supplies. Many of these items are available at Costco, so they’re not hard to find but are definitely appreciated.
So go taste some wine, make a donation, and help animals in need. And of course, feel free to bring your own canine companion—dogs are welcome.
When: Saturday, July 21 at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Woodinville Wine Cellars (17721 132nd Ave NE, Woodinville)
How much: $5 tasting fee. Donations encouraged.
