Be in the Know: SAM Remix

Celebrate land and sea Seattleite-style.

The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) Remix is celebrating land and sea through performances, dancing, games and Park After Dark tours by local artists, curators and more.

The Remix is a night inspired by SAM art, including Sandra Cinto’s Encontro das Águas and Sarah Bergmann’s Portal to the Pollinator Pathway.  Cinto’s work features a wall of water that was created using blue and silver paint pens, lines and angles.  Cinto incorporates stories about individuals who were rescued at sea, to show the endurance of the human spirit in difficult circumstances.  The Pollinator Pathway is a mile-long corridor of pollinator-friendly gardens that connects two larger green spaces, integrating ecological systems into the Emerald City.

The evening will begin with a Brazilian Carnival performance featuring music and dancing from Show Brazil!.  Following the carnival, Seattle indie rocker BOAT will tell stories about dinosaurs and the ferocious sounds of lobsters.  DJ Tigerbeat will follow, along with DJ Riz before the screening of Jaws begins at 9:30 p.m.

During the Remix, guests who are not SAM members can turn in their Remix ticket for $10 off a new SAM membership.  To redeem this offer, bring your ticket to the membership desk.
