Food Porn: Le Pichet

Cozy French bistro serving classic fare.

Le Pichet is a mere one block from the Pike Place Market, but has the atmosphere of a neighborhood bistro. With no tourists in sight, it is cozy and welcoming with many regulars and truly delicious food. Le Pichet serves traditional and regional French fare and is as close as you will get to an authentic Parisian cafe in Seattle.

Grilled Yakima Asparagus with leeks marinated with house made white wine vinegar and walnut oil, and Roquefort cheese. A wonderful appetizer cooked perfectly with a crispy chicken skin garnish. Grilled Rabbit-Pork Sausage with rhubarb poached in a gastrique with white veal broth, green garlic nettles and Parisian gnocchi. The sausage was juicy and the gnocchi were creamy and decadent.

Their signature dish, Washington Chicken, is roasted to order with beans, carrots, spring onions, and carrot nage is worthy of the title. It serves two and is worth the wait (allow 1 hour). Meanwhile, order appetizers and taste from their extensive wine list.
