Calling all lamb lovers!
The American Lamb Jam is an epic tasting event and competition that brings together talented local chefs to compete for your vote and the honor of Best Lamb Dish in Seattle. Joining the chefs will be local breweries, winemakers and other local food artisans serving up tasty treats. Between bites, attendees can watch butcher demos, play in the interactive photo booth, meet local shepherds and concoct their very own lamb spice rub.
Lamb Jam is an annual multi-city culinary competition that joins local shepherds, top chefs and lamb fans from across the U.S. to celebrate a universal staple on a “The way last season’s chefs paired local lamb with Mediterranean, Asian, Latin or Middle Eastern flavors was remarkable,” says Megan Wortman, executive director of the American Lamb Board. “From a lamb shoulder half-smoke to a spicy Burmese lamb and ginger salad, each dish truly spotlighted the diversity of American-raised lamb and its ability to take on a variety of flavors.”
Continuing with the global flavors theme, this year’s participating chefs will prepare internationally inspired lamb dishes in an attempt to win the hearts and appetites of lamb fans in their city. The winning chefs from each region will advance to the Lamb Jam finale to compete for the ultimate title of Lamb Jam Master.

In addition to voting for their favorite lamb dishes, participants at each event can sample local craft beers and wine, and attend a pasture to plate “curriculamb” on cuts, cooking and sourcing American grown lamb led by shepherds and chefs. Guests will also be able to blend and take home a spice mix inspired by the bold and aromatic flavors of the tour.
