Top 4 Blowout Bars in the Greater Seattle Area

Having great hair can make any day better.

If you’re not familiar, “blowouts” are simple treatments that include a wash and style. Stylists can make your hair wavy, voluminous, or straight. Blow dry bars in Seattle haven’t caught on the way they have in Los Angeles and New York and we’re not sure why—it is a lovely experience having someone wash, dry, and style your hair. At 30% of what a haircut would cost, it leaves you feeling glamorous with event-ready hair that you didn’t have to do yourself!

I measured my hair and I have 31 inches. It’s long, straight, and doesn’t always hold a curl. Here are my top four recommendations for getting my hair washed and styled in Seattle. I’ll probably go back to all of them since they all have slightly different pros.

O2 Blow Dry Bar’s blowout includes wash, dry, and style, which is a great value. Somehow, it’s also never been super crowded on my two visits. It’s walking distance for anyone who works in Bellevue downtown (Lincoln Square, Bellevue Square, Expedia, etc).

I’ve been twice and seen Maggie and Clark. They both did a great job and I would highly recommend both. Clark has a fundamental understanding of hair and is also a stylist upstairs at Obadiah Salon. He gave me some good recommendations for haircuts for the future. He dried my hair in a way that gave it extra volume before he curled and it stayed for two days!

Frequent Dryer Membership: 1 for $35 / 3 for $95 / 6 for $180

Two locations in Bellevue and Kirkland downtown.

About two blocks outside the heart of Bellevue downtown, Stan Parente is a full-service salon. A blowout here with Sami costs $35 and includes wash, dry, and style. I’ve been to Sami five or six times and she is amazing. She’s adorable, does a great job, and is always fun to talk to.  I walk out with clean, shiny, curled hair for whatever the occasion (sometimes I just want to feel pretty).

*As of November 2016, Sami has moved to Winslow Salon in downtown Kirkland.

Note 8/3/16: we feature Sami in a spotlight piece here.

  • $40 for a blowout: includes wash + blowdry with a round brush
  • $40 for drystyle: come with clean, dry hair and get styled with hot tools (curled, straightened)
  • $65 for blowout+drystyle
  • $99 for 3 blowouts or drystyles

Swink Style Bar specializes in blowouts, lash extensions, makeup, and bridal packages. They are your one-stop for special occasions (bridal events, weddings, etc). The atmosphere is great and the service is wonderful too. My drystyle (I came in with washed+dried hair) took less than 20 minutes and I had perfect curls that lasted about two days.

Monthly membership: $99 for 3 blowouts or drystyles a month. $35 each (instead of $40) beyond the 3, and a complimentary blowout on your birthday.

Two locations in Seattle downtown and University Village.

You can always get an appointment here, even day-of and you don’t have to travel far to get to one of their 10 locations. Impromptu date night? Unexpected meeting? This is your spot. The only downside if you don’t have someone you already see here, you don’t always know who you’re getting and if they have experience with your hair type. I’ve been happy most of the time, but less than happy twice (out of 6 times).

  • Express Blowdry (includes wash+dry): $35
  • Express Blowdry + heat styling tools: $45

If you’re looking to pair your blowout with a before-or-after massage, manicure/pedicure, or facial, Gene Juarez is the best option.
