When I heard local beauty gurus Herbivore Botanicals was releasing a new skincare product made with cannabis, I wasn’t surprised. That’s so Seattle. Many other beauty companies have been using CBD (Do yourself a favor and get a Kush Queen bath bomb – your welcome) to soothe aches and pains and enhance relaxation for some time, but I love supporting local and was excited to learn why Herbivore decided to dabble with cannabis.

Smart clothing is the way of the future.

Intelligent clothing popped up in 2015, and we’ve seen garments that monitor heart rate, regulate temperature and even keep a tab on emotions. Lash extensions can make every day a good lash day. Semi-permanent eyelash extensions have been trending for the past few years and its popularity isn’t slowing down. There are more lash salons and nail, hair, and other full service salons are also offering lash extensions as an additional service. So where should you go? Having great hair can make any day better.

If you’re not familiar, “blowouts” are simple treatments that include a wash and style. Stylists can make your hair wavy, voluminous, or straight. Blow dry bars in Seattle haven’t caught on the way they have in Los Angeles and New York and we’re not sure why—it is a lovely experience having someone wash, dry, and style your hair. At 30% of what a haircut would cost, it leaves you feeling glamorous with event-ready hair that you didn’t have to do yourself!

Birchbox is turning traditional beauty marketing on its’ head—one carefully crafted, hot pink box at a time.

Walking into a beauty store or aisle is like walking into a candy shop — there are so many flavors, bright colors, and immediate questions (chocolate or sour?) that it is often overwhelming to find the perfect piece to satisfy your palette. That is, without sampling them all, of course.
