Shout Out for Stouts / Sunday, May 15
Shuckers is hosting the first annual “Shout Out for Stouts” dinner pairing event. Shuckers and the Fairmont Olympic have teamed up with the unofficial King and Queen of Seattle’s craft beer scene, Charles and Rose Ann Finkel of Pike Brewing Company, for an incredible beer pairing dinner.
Oysters have long been paired with Stouts, dating back to a quote from famed British journalist, Alfred Barnard, in 1889 where he wrote “Stout beer, what better accompaniment to a dozen of oysters could be found?” Guests of this dinner will be taken on a culinary journey led by Charles Finkel, Samuel Smith of Samuel Smith Brewery (5th generation beer maker from the oldest brewery in Yorkshire UK), and Rawle Jefferds (owner of Penn Cove Shellfish Company) as they describe the history of seafood and beer pairings, the evolution of both craft
Seats to the dinner are $79, inclusive of tax and tip, and can be purchased by calling (206) 287-4049 or by emailing olympic.events@fairmont.com.
