Marée Bistro & Bar opened in February this year with a gorgeous waterfront view of Alki beach. Marée means ‘the tide’ in French, named after its location and inspired by the seasonality of the Northwest. Chef Andy Dekle sources sustainably raised and harvested meat, game, shellfish, fish and produce from nearby purveyors. Aspects of the menu change often, because truly seasonal is fleeting at certain times of the year and with certain products; other menu items change with the time of the year.

The Farmers Market Mondays features a special three-course dinner highlighting ingredients from Chef Andy’s Sunday visit to the West Seattle Farmers Market. Dinner is $40 per person, wine pairings $18. This is definitely worth the visit.
The first two courses, Cauliflower crostata and Kohlrabi and fennel salad were a showcase of the fresh and quality ingredients from the farmers market. The Mustard and black pepper rubbed brisket was tender and juicy with a delicious and hearty summer squash gratinee on the side.
Other highlights were the Parmesan Tomato Gallette and the fish of the day. The galette was creamy with a buttery and flakey crust, balanced bya fresh arugula salad.
