Seafair 2017: Mark your calendars!

Celebrating 68 years of summer in Seattle.

Seattle’s iconic summertime tradition, Seafair, has released its 2017 dates. The Festival spans ten weeks from June 14 – August 20. In addition to the below Signature Events, there are and more than 30 Seafair-sanctioned community events.

2017 Seafair Signature Event Dates:

  • Seafair Kickoff: June 14
  • Alaska Airlines: Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon & 1/2 Marathon: June 18
  • Pirates Landing: July 8
  • Safeway/Albertsons Seafair Milk Carton Derby: July 15
  • Swedish Seafair Triathlon: July 23
  • Torchlight Night: July 29
    • Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade & FanFest
    • Torchlight Run
  • Seafair Fleet Week and Boeing Maritime Celebration: August 1-6
  • Seafair Weekend: August 4-6
    • Albert Lee Appliance Seafair Cup
    • Boeing Seafair Air Show

After a one-year hiatus, Seafair is excited to announce the return of the Torchlight Run. “Our fans asked, and we listened,” said Seafair President & CEO Richard Andersen. “We couldn’t be happier to add this great event to our Seafair lineup. It’s a long-standing tradition for many runners including families that travel from out of state for it. We believe it fits in well with our other long-standing Pacific Northwest Seafair traditions.”

As the not-for-profit festival enters its 68th year, Andersen stressed how Seafair’s success is largely due to support from its corporate partners. “From Boeing, to Alaska Airlines to Albert Lee Appliance, we could not put on our events without them,” said Andersen. “We’re also thrilled to build on newer relationships including Safeway/Albertsons, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.”
