This year’s festival welcomed a record 17,948 attendees throughout the weekend. The four-day festival featured 45 unique events, with 134 chefs, 56 wineries, 17 breweries, 11 artisans, and 13 distilleries.

Feast 2017 raised $66,672.50 for its charitable partner, Partners For A Hunger Free Oregon in support of their mission to end childhood hunger in our region. Major charitable efforts of Feast 2017 included a Matching Challenge with Oregon Fruit Products, a Hedley & Bennett Limited Edition Feast Portland Apron, and a “Feast Fab Collab” series of one-of-a-kind Feast Portland-inspired items created by top artisans and chefs.

Additionally, inspired to help the recovery efforts from the thousands of acres of beloved Oregon forest burned in the Eagle Creek Fire as well as the hundreds of miles underwater in Texas Hurricanes Harvey and Irma in the weeks leading up to festival weekend, Feast Portland 2017 added a “Feast For All” fundraiser event to the lineup, raising $5,370.50 for Friends of the Columbia Gorge and Red Cross.

“Feast Portland exemplifies the bounty and the spirit of Oregon. This year was no exception: so many people came together to contribute to the goal of ending childhood hunger!” said Annie Kirschner, Executive Director, Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon. “We’re proud to work side-by-side with Feast Portland and the culinary community to, as partners, make sure that all kids—from Portland to Malheur—have plenty of nourishing food to eat.”

Since the festival’s first year in 2012, Feast Portland has raised over $372,000 for charitable partners.

ABOUT PARTNERS FOR A HUNGER-FREE OREGON

Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon (PHFO) believes that all Oregonians should be able to afford nourishing food. PHFO raises awareness about hunger, connects people to nutrition programs and advocates for systemic changes to end hunger in Oregon. Feast Portland has made it possible for PHFO to connect tens of thousands of children to nutritious meals in communities across Oregon. When 1 in 4 kids are food insecure and hunger is at an all-time high in our state, we must work together. By addressing its root cause, poverty, and increasing access to programs like school meals and summer meals for kids, we can help end hunger in Oregon. Raise awareness of hunger and PHFO’s mission during Feast Portland by using #WhyWeFeast.
