As much as I love fall, I have a hard time with the transition from summer to fall. I mourn the loss of sunny days, BBQ’s, and outdoor activities—from paddle boarding in South Lake Union to hiking in the Cascades. However, one consolation that comes with the close of summer is Feast Portland’s phenomenal food and drink festival. We look forward to it all year, with the countdown officially beginning when tickets go on sale in May.

Celebrating its fifth anniversary, Bon Appétit Presents FeastPortland 2016 welcomed a record 16,286 festival attendees, and raised $70,021 for Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon to help fight childhood hunger in Oregon. Our second trip to down to Feast was wonderful and delicious and we look forward to going next year. Schedule and line-up for the 2017 event will be announced in May and the festival will be September 14th – 17th.

Celebrating its 5th birthday last weekend, this year’s Feast Portland was the best one yet. Minus a little rain on Saturday, it was another successful food & wine festival. If you haven’t been, you should mark your calendar for next May when tickets go on sale—it’s not to be missed. A few of the Seattleite staff writers took a road trip down to Portland and enjoyed a weekend of glorious feasting. There’s some amazing talent in Portland and they are making innovative and delicious food.
