This month, show Pioneer Square who’s the geekiest of them all.

Well, Geeks Who Drink (GWD) and Merchants Café and Saloon invite you to prove it at Pioneer Square’s Holiday Trivia Nights, which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on both Thursday, Dec. 22, and Thursday, Dec. 29.

“I never cared for art class,” Isaac Layman told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer in June 2010, when his “110%” exhibit opened at Lawrimore Project. Instead, the locally-raised photographer invented his own technique — take several shots of a stationary object from the same angle (with a basic digital camera), and then focus on varying depths to mask the actual distance inside a given space.

Every year, a time-honored German tradition gets a Seattle makeover during Fremont Oktoberfest, a three-day salute to beer, bratwursts and lederhosen. The 2011 festivities, which took place last weekend, did not disappoint in the slightest, as revelers of all ages showed up ready to party and paraded down the streets in full German attire.
