The lineup was announced tonight at a free party at the Showbox Market. Bumbershoot tickets go on sale Friday at 10! The festival will be held Friday through Sunday of Labor Day Weekend instead of Saturday through Monday in past years. Local favorites Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Death Cab for Cutie will headline the weekend. There is a fair bit of EDM this year: Kygo, Pretty Lights, DJ Snake, Porter Robinson, Zed’s Dead, and Zhu.
Bumbershoot
This Labor Day Weekend, Bumbershoot celebrates 46 years!
Treefort Music Festival just passed, Sasquatch is coming up at The Gorge next month, Capitol Hill Block Party just announced its lineup for July, and Bumbershoot tickets are on sale! The early bird sale is almost over, so make sure to get your tickets before prices go up! This year, the event will be held Friday through Sunday of Labor Day Weekend instead of Saturday through Monday in past years. This is an awesome shift so we will have Sunday to rest and recover before heading back to work/school on Tuesday!

This annual 3-day event is the top music festival in the Seattle, bringing to town big names and all sorts of other entertainment, including comedy & theatre acts, film and dance. It was sunny and between the low to mid-70’s all day. Day 3 on Labor Day Monday was an all-around wonderful and successful day.
We can’t wait for Bumbershoot 2016!
Rain or shine, crowds piled into the Seattle Center for day 1 of Bumbershoot.

Labor Day weather is certainly always hit or miss in Seattle, and as a Bumbershoot veteran, I can tell you that the rain and drastic rise in ticket pricing (and incredibly disorganized transition to an AEG hosted event from One Reel) didn’t stop anyone from attending the festival this year. Crowds
With any luck, all of your drenched, wrung-out clothing has (finally!) dried since Saturday’s downpour, which came along with a surprise dose of lightning that temporarily brought the music to a halt. By this point in the weekend, we know the ropes of this year’s new ticket-bracelet system, we know to expect a strikingly young festival crowd, and we know to pack a raincoat/poncho just in case.
An Oregon music fest enchants again, introducing us to some new favorite artists (several perform this weekend at Bumbershoot, too!)

After year two of attending the Pickathon music festival in Happy Valley, Oregon, I know this much to be true:
Seattle (and the entire NW) amps up for a high-volume season.
Seattelites love to rock out all year-round, but when we’re finally blessed with never-ending azure days, we crank it up even harder. This summer’s music options include the obvious gems like Capitol Hill Block Party (July 25-27) and Bumbershoot (August 30-September 1), and we’re impressed once again with these events’ lineups that continue to “wow.”
Lace up those running shoes; a treasure hunt for adults is just days away.
Looking for an excuse to channel your inner child and return to days of carefree play? You’re in luck. After a year hiatus, Emerald City Search returns this Saturday, April 21, at 6 a.m., to kick off the first of two citywide treasure hunts taking place this year. (The second hunt happens October 21, and the two searches bookend Seattle Center’s Next Fifty celebration.) Entry to the treasure hunt is free and open to the public.
On Labor Day Weekend, these local music favorites are definite must-sees.
Once again, Bumbershoot is returning to the Seattle Center in 2011. This annual event showcases a wide variety of music, art and comedy, from both locally and nationally-known artists. However, with so many different performances to choose from, how can you know whom to check out? Well, today, my friend, is your lucky day.
