As we plunge into a cozy season of gathering and giving thanks, we’re finding plenty of ways to enjoy life while feeling good about our choices, too. We pooled info on some upcoming events that support meaningful causes, and also learned not-to-be-missed tips from local medical experts related to Breast Cancer Awareness Month (toward the end of the article). 

Seattle’s largest, locally produced brunch event, Bacon, Eggs & Kegs is returning for its third and biggest event Saturday and Sunday, August 27-28 at CenturyLink Field from 11 am – 3 pm! We’ve attended the past two events and it’s not to be missed. We love the demos, photobooth (in a giant inflatable skillet!), and all the tasty brunch dishes. The Bloody Mary bar is like nothing we’ve ever seen before! 

The Eastside, particularly Bellevue, has a reputation and it’s not a positive one. Many people think of the Eastside as being cultureless with cookie-cutter chain restaurants and snobby, materialistic people driving Range Rovers and Teslas. However, while it may be true in a small way, that isn’t an entirely accurate or fair description. There’s so much more to the Eastside—don’t let a few stereotypes stop you from visiting! There are several great spots that Seattleites should consider crossing the bridge for (and a few places to avoid), you just need a little “In the Know”.
