Dine On A Dime: Bar Del Corso

This cozy spot beckons you to Beacon Hill for fresh pizza and small plates.

It’s hard to beat a wood-fired pizza and a glass of Italian red wine when it comes to keeping you warm through the chilly months ahead. Bar Del Corso is a quaint, street-front restaurant that boasts a small menu of pizza, side dishes and salads as well as classic Italian cocktails, wines and beers that are sure to please.

Meal Steals: Bar Del Corso’s Best Three Dishes Under $10

With only five menu items above $10, it’s hard to go wrong. You can easily fill up on the delicious side dishes, but pizza is a must-have.

For a starter plate, a crowd favorite is the Suppli al Telefono. Also known as “Roman street food,” this $5 dish consists of crispy, golden fried risotto balls with a gooey mozzarella center.

Fresh and local ingredients are a staple at Bar Del Corso, especially in the salads. The Panzanella salad for $8 includes arugula, ripe, heirloom tomatoes and red cucumbers and is topped with sea salt as an added twist.

Last but certainly not least is what we’ve all been waiting for: your delectable entrée. Try the Margherita Pizze for $9. The classic Italian pizza is topped with tomato, mozzarella, basil and extra virgin olive oil. For $3, add the mozzarella di buffula to pump up the flavor even more.

Just make sure you show up early, as this place gets packed — and they do not take reservations.
