A chance for Seattleites to lend a helping hand to a local foodie favorite.
“Come to the Table” is an auction and dinner to raise funds for the Volunteer Park Cafe, a “happy neighborhood restaurant.” For more than a year, the establishment underwent a rezoning process with the City of Seattle to make the change from grocery to restaurant. Legal fees have piled up, so the cafe decided to look to its neighbors for support.
This family-style dinner will be served in multiple courses, and followed by an auction hosted by Keith Robbins, owner of Tini Bigs and Hula Hula. The evening kicks off with Skillet Street Food, seafood from Seattle’s Mutual Fish Company, handmade pasta from Lagana Foods, Charcuterie from Zoe’s Meats, organic produce from Full Circle, bread from Columbia City Bakery and more from family and friends. Adult beverages will be provided by Syncline Winery, Lioco, COR Cellars, Stone Brewing Co. and Stumptown Coffee Roasters.
Singer/songwriter Lucy Woodward is scheduled to perform a set on Monday, and photographer Ernie Sapiro will shoot the event. Some of the participating chefs and restaurants include Ethan Stowell Restaurants, Tom Douglas Restaurants, Restaurant Zoe and Spring Hill Restaurant & Bar, as well as several local farms. The cafe will make a donation to the Children’s Program at Wellspring Family Services
