Check ’em Out: There is no category of music to describe the originality and infectious sound that is Flogging Molly. They bring together their Celtic roots through traditional Irish instruments like the violin, accordion, and mandolin, and infuse their songs with a vibrant punk rock sound, that defines them a new age group. They’re anything but traditional; their lyrics inspired by the woes of the world, and a country torn and wounded. Their newest album Speed of Darkness pays tribute to Ireland’s democracy, and hardships faced today by wounded economies. Since they came together in Los Angeles in 1997, Flogging Molly has shocked crowds with their social and politically driven music, and gained a wide spread following with their unique style. Venue: The Paramount Theater (911 Pine Street,  Seattle) has hosted an array of entertainers in Seattle for the past 77 years, and patrons have been dazzled by the building’s architectural structure. In the 20’s, silent  films were all the rage, and Paramount Pictures decided to built a Grand Movie palace, which was then pronounced the Seattle theater. $3 million dollars was invested into the project, and a decade went by before the theatre’s name changed to decipher its connection to the Paramount chain; the Seattle Paramount Theater. Throughout history, the Paramount has been a favorite destination for touring bands, and the balconies, chandeliers, and columns create the perfect ambiance for any evening out on the town. The Seattle Theatre Group, STG has been at the forefront in maintaining the building’s structure, and assigning a variety of performances year round.
