When Chateau Ste Michelle came out with their lineup of summer concerts this spring, I was excited to see several artists worthy of heading to the eastside on a weeknight. Gary Clark Jr is definitely one of them.

Herbivore Botanicals releases Emerald, a new facial oil made with weed

When I heard local beauty gurus Herbivore Botanicals was releasing a new skincare product made with cannabis, I wasn’t surprised. That’s so Seattle. Many other beauty companies have been using CBD (Do yourself a favor and get a Kush Queen bath bomb – your welcome) to soothe aches and pains and enhance relaxation for some time, but I love supporting local and was excited to learn why Herbivore decided to dabble with cannabis.
Head to Wallingford to explore wine two at a time
I had just finished reading Cork Dork and was feeling confident in my ability to taste wine like a pro last week when we visited Claret Wine Bar in Wallingford, the newest member of the Purple Cafe and Thackeray restaurant family. I had no reason to feel confident – I love wine and know which wines I like and which I don’t (Sorry white wine, you’ll never be a red. You’re dead to me), but I’m no expert.
Check out this underrated relaxing town on the southern Oregon coast.
When I told colleagues and friends I was heading to the Oregon coast for the weekend, I was met with many responses like “Oh I LOVE Cannon Beach!” “If you’re in Newport you have to check out…” “This Seaside shop has the best…” and so on.

A peaceful, magnetic and hopeful crowd protests in Seattle

Confession: I decided to join the march last minute. I had a long week leading up to inauguration day (shitty excuse) and fell into bed Friday evening hoping I’d wake up in an alternate universe. One where the defeat and angst worn by so many Seattleites and Americans around the country would be answered by the tiniest glimmer of hope. As it turns out, when I woke up on Saturday morning ready to roll out my protest

Chelan sits at the base of the North Cascades, overlooking some of the most jaw dropping landscapes in the PNW; and those views are often served up with a tasty glass of the best wine in the region. Somewhere far enough away your husband’s frat douche friends won’t attend -no guarantees. Sunny skies and expansive grape vines create the perfect backdrop for a stunning outdoor wedding, so if you’re thinking about reciting your nuptials in the valley, check out this list of kickass vendors from our picture perfect Chelan wedding!
Flap your tail feathers with Johnny Boy and the Flamingo cast at the Can Can

As this is not the first time I’ve raved about a Seattle burlesque show, you might find it surprising that I’ve never made my way over to the Can Can. The ever popular haunt deep in the belly of Pike Place market has always been on my list of Seattle must sees, and I’m happy to report their performance did not disappoint.
Walk in Motown mogul Berry Gordy’s shoes at the Paramount Theater

Motown is arguably the single most influential music of all time – and you can thank Berry Gordy, music mogul and founder of Motown records, for virtually every great 1960-80s sensation that came out of that era. Everyone from the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and SO, so many more. Motown the Musical walks you through Gordy’s
This man about town hits the stage tonight at the Neptune Theater

Have you found that perfect song that seems to be three dimensional and fulfill any mood you’re in? The one you blast while cleaning your 600sf closet you call a home, throw on the vinyl to clear the hazy air between friends, or had shazam spinning for so long you bought three pairs of pants at Nordstrom, all different sizes? Chances are that song came from Mayer Hawthorne. It’s like Marvin Gaye and George Clinton had a dapper, funky little love child that came out serenading the nurses. I’ve been lusting after this soulful powerhouse for seven years and counting, and might have grown
