Tom Douglas introduces us to the pretzelwich.

In this edition of Food Porn, we feature Bravehorse Tavern, located in South Lake Union in the Terry Avenue Building above Cuoco. With after-work snacks, pretzel sandwiches, beer on tap, jello shots, and BBQ plates, Bravehorse is sure to satisfy.

The brunch menu has a variety of offerings and can satisfy your sweet or savory cravings. Start with a spicy Bloody Mary served with a beer back or bubbly Mimosa with grapefruit or orange juice. The Pretzel Knodel is a cross between a bread pudding and French toast with maple glazed bacon on the side. The Elvis Pretzelwich, inspired by Elvis’ favorite sandwich combination with peanut butter, bacon, and bananas is the perfect balance of sweet, savory, soft, and crunchy.

Coming after work? How about a bar snack? Choose from Bacon-Spiked Deviled Eggs, Smoked Beer Nuts, or Marinated Beets with Pretzel Chips. After having these crispy, buttery pretzel chips, it makes me wonder why this isn’t the only kind of chip.

For something more filling, the Summer BBQ Plate comes with spice-rubbed chicken thigh, a juicy hot link, and smoked-cheddar corn salad. The Roasted Pence Orchard Peaches with house-cured ham and beer-battered funnel-cake-like crispies.

Save room for an old school treat – Strawberry Float with vanilla ice cream and strawberry fritters. The combination of the cold, fizzy drink with the hot, crispy cake-like fritters is unique and delicious.  Bravehorse Tavern also has Jello Shots in an assortment of rotating flavors, including Mudslide, Apricot Fuzzy, and Champagne Raspberry. The Mudslide, a flavor that stays on the menu, will satisfy your dessert and alcohol cravings.
