UVillage Sounds of Summer Concert Series
Summer is here, and what could be better than enjoying that beautiful Northwest sunshine with live music, without spending a dime? University Village released the lineup for this year’s 2013 Sounds of Summer Concert Series, and you can thank the folks of UW Medicine for making it happen. Keep your Wednesday evenings in July and August reserved for entertainment, as the lineup includes several local artists like Seattle’s own Mycle Wastman, who you may remember dazzled fans on the Voice; a real soulful singer’s singer. The concert series kicks off July 10th with the Nowhere Men, and really who doesn’t love to sing along with a Beatles tribute band? Concerts will take place Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm, and it’s not just the live music patrons can enjoy, they’re also throwing in free appetizers and small bites from University Village restaurants, and don’t forget about the Ram’s beer garden, and fun activities for entertaining your youngsters in the kid’s play area.
Out to Lunch
Looking for something to do outdoors on your lunch break? Check out the 2013 Out to Lunch concert series lineup presented by the Downtown Seattle Association, now in it’s 35th year of production! These concerts take place every Wednesday and Friday from noon to 1:30pm in various parks and venues around downtown. Swing around with Blues band Dusty 45’s at the Harbor Steps August 16th, and enjoy one of my favs to shine in Seattle’s indie pop scene, Hey Marseilles, performing at the Freeway Park on Sept 13th. Series kicks off Wednesday July 10th, and go through Friday September 20th.
