100% Whole Food at Sweetgrass Food Co.

A whole food menu that tastes good and makes you feel good too.

Sweetgrass Food Co. has partnered with local producers and suppliers to serve local, sustainable and (mostly) organic foods. Everything is made from scratch, in house. The best part is that they serve something for everyone: from sustainable, hormone and antibiotic free meat and dairy, to vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-restriction options. Sweetgrass is located in Westlake and they’re planning to open a second location in Pioneer Square later this year.

SEATTLEITE MUST-ORDER: Five-Color Rice Pottage, Chia Pudding, Mira Bar

For breakfast, the Soaked Oats with brazil nut-hemp milk and topped with a cherry compote is a solid option—it’s filling and the compote is both sweet and tart. The Chia Pudding with raw pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and golden berries is breakfast dessert bliss. It’s luscious and packed with super ingredients to fuel your day. I’m crazy about their housemade desserts—all of them made without refined sugars—especially the Mira Bar (gluten-dairy-nut-free) and the Matcha Tea Cake.

Five-Color Sweetgrass Rice Pottage is a satisfying lunch bowl with brown rice, shiitake mushrooms, greens, adzuki beans, pickled sweet chilies, cilantro, shaved fennel, and fresh ginger and scallions. Served warm, it’s incredibly savory and hearty with umami flavors from the mushrooms and balanced by the bright chilies and sharp notes of ginger.

The Buddha Bowl is loaded with vegetables and served over coconut brown rice and sprouted soaked quinoa. Vegetables include kale, brussels sprouts, shredded carrots, shaved red cabbage, lentils, and avocado. The tamarind-lime-tumeric vinaigrette hits all the flavors of curry, while still being light.

Sweetgrass has a full drinks menu featuring blended drinks with fresh fruits, vegetables, and coconut milk. They offer cold brew and hot drinks, including espresso, matcha latte, balinese tea, and broths (chicken herb and fennel-miso). They also offer alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, and bellinis.

You can order online for delivery or for pickup.
