What is summer without special treats? The pandemic has put a dampener on many summer staples, but luckily for us, local businesses have found creative (and yummy!) ways to adapt. With the Washington State Fair canceled (which is a longstanding end-of-summer tradition for many), Fisher Fair Scones and Made In Washington present two delicious ways to celebrate.
A true Northwest tradition, Fisher has been serving its signature fresh-baked scones with butter and raspberry jam on the Washington State Fairgrounds and beyond for over 105 years. This year, however, the wagon heads to Bellevue for one special day! Those same, treasured Fisher freshly baked scones you’d normally experience at the fair will be at the Fisher Scone Wagon at a special Bellevue Square-based pop-up on Wednesday, September 2nd from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm.
That same day, Made In Washington stores will be selling the Fisher Fair At-Home Scone Experience Kit at a special price. Fill your home with the aroma of fresh-baked scones and memories of fairs gone by. This make-at-home kit includes Fisher Scone mix (makes two dozen), a 32-ounce jar of Fisher raspberry jam, 24 Fisher Scone paper sleeves and two Fisher handle Bags to tote anywhere (or share with friends if you’re feeling generous)! For those who cannot pick up the kit in person on September 2nd, it will also be available for purchase online here: https://www.madeinwashington.com/fisher-scone-at-home-experience.html
Fisher will be donating 10% of its Scone Wagon revenue from this event to Seattle Children’s Hospital, and Made in Washington stores will be donating 10% of store sales from September 2nd to Seattle Children’s Hospital. More about the beneficiary here: https://www.seattlechildrens.org/
