Early-Fall Roundup: New Restaurants and Trendy Gift Baskets

As the weather changes and we say goodbye to the ever-fleeting Seattle summer, we also enter into the exciting season that is fall. And with this new season comes the opening of several restaurants and shops that are worth talking about!

First we have Rendition, a new restaurant and bar that opened on September 9th at South Seattle’s Hotel Interurban. Rendition is a sophisticated and welcoming urban hangout that offers approachable twists on American classics.

Dinner highlights include graze boards, hibachi skewers of braised pork belly, marinated tiger prawns and dry-aged steaks. The menu also offers larger plates, including smoked sablefish, fried half-chicken, a Wagyu beef burger, and garden pasta. Rendition offers visually stunning, interactive desserts, such as the Berries & Bubbles with sea salt meringues, macerated berries and Pop Rocks™, served with a tableside pour of Brut Champagne for a crackling, sensational experience.

Next up is TIDAL+, the new on-site restaurant at the Hyatt at Olive 8 located in downtown Seattle. Pacific Northwest driven, TIDAL+ incorporates seafood-focused dishes, hand-crafted cocktails, and an extensive selection of Washington wine and craft beer.

Signature menu items include their Lobster Mac & Cheese (my personal favorite), locally sourced Tidal flat oysters, and the SeaGarita, which features a delicious salted seafoam. Come experience what the ‘+’ stands for with mouth-bursting and bold flavors, along with a variety of dipping sauces such as black garlic aioli, homemade tartar sauce, and mignonettes – you will want to try them all! Last but not least, I recently stumbled upon the gem that is Bite Society, which was started by a community of culinary craftsmen, makers, and dreamers who have a shared passion for uniting folks with good food. Bite Society curates fun and funky gift baskets for all kinds of occasions, such as “Welcome Home!”, Housewarming” and “Care Package.” They also have a Champagne and Chocolates box!
