The Sweeney team strikes again–this time in Redmond. The sixth local Pure Barre studio opened its doors this October in the Red160 apartments in downtown Redmond and joined Super Jock N’ Jill, Rudy’s Barbershop, Top Pot Doughnuts and more local businesses with Eastside offshoots.
No longer relegated just to babies, storks have expanded their services to include 100-percent cotton cloth diapers to Seattle and Eastside families. Diaper Stork, launched in September 2014, creates convenience for area young professionals who might also be moms or dads.
I was looking at my calendar the other day and I realized I haven’t experienced the burn of Pure Barre for almost six months. Six months! The dismay! Blame it on being a first-time working nursing mom, I guess, since doesn’t seem to be a shortage of Pure Barre locations across western Washington, that’s for sure.
And now, my everyone’s favorite ballet-based total body workout is creeping even further westward with dynamic duo Sami and Brandon Sweeney’s fifth location in four years coming to Green Lake–the Sweeney’s own ‘hood.
Okay, so it’s still only January but that’s what this month of the new year is for, right? Ringing in our resolutions — for many of us that means pushing ourselves to the edge of fitness. Whether we’re charging up Rattlesnake Ridge, stretching into sun salutations in local studios, or paddling out over the still-frigid PNW waters, we’re living to be outside channeling the strength that comes with movement.

Just a few months ago, Von Trapp’s waltzed into our Capitol Hill lives and we haven’t gone a weekend without wanting to belly-up to one of their bocce ball courts with beer and brat in hand.
