Victoria is one of our favorite summertime destinations. It’s only a three hour ferry ride from Seattle, but the European architectural influence and the relaxed atmosphere makes it feels a world away. Here are the top spots we’d recommend for a weekend trip to Victoria.

After scouring the country for the next spot to bring their wildly successful ATK EATS festival, a celebration of cooking, food and wine, America’s Test Kitchen picked Seattle.
Minneapolis-based designer and maker of modern home furnishings Blu Dot opened a sprawling 5,800 square foot store in the historic Coleman Auto Building in Capitol Hill on July 19th. The expansive store features an assortment of products and a dedicated space for interior design clientele.
Capitol Hill’s Chophouse Row has announced its busiest summer calendar yet, and there is something for everyone. This summer they unveil Sunday dance parties, a new outdoor art installation, and a jam-packed calendar of programmed events centered around food, music, fashion, and art happenings.
Every year, I make a list of things I want to learn. This year, my list included gardening, calligraphy, and salsa dancing. I’ve ticked the first two off the list, but haven’t signed up for dance classes yet. It is not just the tallest public-viewing tower in Seattle, but the whole of the Pacific Northwest.
It’s wedding season again! Every year, the majority of weddings cluster in late spring to early fall. For those who struggle while all your friends are getting married, you can find laughter and solace in this great tumblr. Now in its 6th year, PROOF — The Washington Distillers Festival, will return for a one-of-its-kind tasting event on Saturday, July 7th. The event is happening for the fourth year in Seattle’s Fremont Studios.
The Nest is a rooftop bar at the top of the Thompson Hotel in downtown Seattle. It’s a lovely place to drink some artisanal cocktails and take in the elusive sunshine. When I heard there was a weekend brunch, I was all in!
While I’ve had plenty of good PNW-inspired fare in Seattle, including top-notch wine offerings, my recent dinner at Agrodolce was really special. From the outstanding entree options to the welcoming and knowledgeable staff and the exquisite wine, Agrodolce stands out.
