Planning for a full season of music at the zoo and beyond.

Recently there have been plenty of roster unveilings for exciting events ranging from the Seattle International Film Festival (taking place May 18 to June 11, tickets on sale now) to Timber! Outdoor Music Festival (which returns July 12 through 14). Earlier this week, Bumbershoot also revealed its anticipated lineup; 3-day passes go on sale Friday, May 4, at noon.

A sensational Swede returns this August—and other can’t-miss shows.

Daniel Norgren—an otherworldly “Swede with soul”—is returning to the U.S. this summer, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. This incredible talent will be back at Pickathon in early August (a dream come true), before heading up to Ballard’s Tractor for two shows (with Phil Cook) on August 7 and 8. Tickets for both performances go on sale today at 10 a.m.; they sold out last year, so we recommend jumping onboard ASAP!

A preview of upcoming concerts, fests + awesome happenings.

If we squint past the dizzying haze of gray, we finally see summer approaching, and we are so stinkin’ ready to welcome it with wide-open, sun-deprived arms. You too? Before we even get there, though, there’s an intriguing lineup of events that has our curiosity piqued. Pull out your iCalendar; it’s time to get plotting.

Enjoy Seattle-area offerings from wonderful Wanderlust to daring dance performances.

So far, we’ve been loving this month, and we’re excited to see what the rest of May has in store. To help fully embrace this delightful pre-summer stretch, we’ve rounded up some suggestions for Seattle-area “musts” that promise to nourish the mind, body and soul (not necessarily in that order). And in some cases—like Wanderlust on May 22—you can attend to all three at once.
