Don’t let the “kitchen” fool you, this is a serious restaurant with one serious cocktail.

The Spot: Casual lunch, weekend brunch, and formal dinner live in harmony at Chef/Owner William Belickis’s Mistral Kitchen. A unique layout offers several sectioned spaces such as a main dining area for a la carte options, a bar and private lounges for cocktails, as well as the elegant Jewel Box for tasting menus. Be sure to reserve the Chef’s Table for the ultimate customized culinary experience.

The Drink: Combine head-turning preparation with a unique back story, throw in a memorable name, and finish it with a unique flavor to produce the one-of-a-kind Courting Rachel. The brainchild of mixologist Andrew Bohrer, the concoction is a modified Old Fashioned with a twist. Bohrer infuses the beverage in a decanter with the fresh smoke of sweet hickory chips. If you’re curious about the name, Bohrer initially thought of naming it Old Hickory, President Andrew Jackson’s nickname. However, his hatred of Jackson (you history buffs may recall the Trail of Tears) turned his attention to his wife, Rachel. It seems Jackson’s love for his wife led him to fight several duels in defense of her honor. Something for you to think about as you sip this wonderful cocktail.
