This neighborhood West Seattle bakery boasts one epic twice-baked almond croissant.
The Spot: In 2005, William Leaman led team USA to victory at the prestigious Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie in Paris. Known as the World Cup of Baking, the triumph was certainly noteworthy, to say the least. William and wife Heather continue their winning work at Bakery Nouvea. Their mission? Crafting one-of-a-kind creations and “building community, one bite at a time.”
The Dish: One of Nouveau’s signature dishes is the famed twice baked almond croissant. These crusty, flaky, yet moist pastries have with a wonderful almond filling. These croissants are so decadent, you may not be able to finish one on your own. It’s no surprise that they attract patrons from all over the city and once you take your first bite, you’ll realize the pilgrimage was well worth it.
