When cancer rocked the lives of Gail Lopez’s family, she decided to take action by starting G1ve a Buck Fund, an incredible nonprofit that raises awareness and much-needed funds for childhood cancer research. Somehow, current research is outdated by 20-plus years, and this organization aims to fight every hurdle to help save the lives of little superheroes near and far.
The wooded campsites and dusty trails of Pendarvis Farm might have felt a wee bit more packed this year, but who can blame the brand-new converts for joining Pickathon’s crew of longtime, loyal fans? When word gets out about a really, really good thing, it turns out—people listen.
We can think of no better way to spend an August evening than listening to live tunes under the summer sky. Seeking plans for this week? Well, this suggestion might just be music to your ears. While many ZooTunes shows sold out early, tickets remain for Tuesday and Wednesday (August 2nd and 3rd), and Pink Martini promises to put on a fun and dazzling show.
