Our fall calendar is already filling up with spirited sports outings and rocking shows soon to be taking over Seattle stages. Here are a couple ideas to brighten the season.
Living in the PNW sure has its charms, and access to lovely local wines and brews is one of them. With fall on the horizon, I find myself clinging on to the final weeks of summer with lots of outdoor excursions (with the zoo being a favorite!) and refreshing drinks. August is also Washington State wine month, so there are huge wine discounts and fun events that you can check out here.

Three weekends left to enjoy river floating in Leavenworth.
I’m sure I’ll look back on this in February and want to kick myself, but I am over the relentless summer heat and blue skies. The nonstop sun has me seeking shade and avoiding going out. Feeling like a summer scrooge, I knew I needed to find an outdoor activity that involved access to water, which is why I jumped on the opportunity to join Sound Excursions for one of their Leavenworth river tubing getaways.
On June 30th, Elysian brewing hosted their second annual Search Party at Seattle Center. The party is a celebration of music, beer, and community in Seattle. 100% of the proceeds go to The Vera Project, an all-ages, volunteer-fueled music and arts venue at Seattle Center.
Murky, thrilling, violent, abusive and psychotic; ‘Sharp Objects’ based on the book by author Gillian Flynn of Gone girl fame is all of this and more. All the typical trappings of a good mystery are there.
A balmy Sunday evening was perhaps the perfect time for the island-themed ‘Treehouse World Tour’ featuring Sofi Tukker, Kah-Lo, and LP Giobbi to The Showbox. By 7:30 pm on Sunday, May 20th, twenty-and-thirty-somethings were winding their way into the venue, with neon bands and cool kicks, ready to bring the house down.
