Forget the cheesy halftime shows and trivial gridiron rivalries, the real Super Bowl — the one that gets our blood boiling and hearts racing — is next month. And it calls for more of a celebration than pigskin-shaped sliders and triple-cheese chili.

Taste Washington, the Super Bowl of Washington Wine events, features more than 200 Washington state wineries each pouring up to three of their wines, and more than 75 leading Seattle-area restaurants offering mouth-watering bites at Qwest Field Event Center on March 27.

Domaine de Canton’s “Bartender of the Year” regional semifinal cocktail-off is tonight at 7 p.m.

WHAT: Eight of Seattle’s top mixologists will show off their most creative cocktails in a spirited competition to earn the title “Best Bartender of the Year” in a competition hosted by Maurice Cooper et Cie, producer and importer of Domaine de Canton, the world’s leading super-premium ginger liqueur. Tonight’s event will determine who goes to the finals in St. Martin.
