This Labor Day Weekend, Bumbershoot celebrates 46 years!

Treefort Music Festival just passed, Sasquatch is coming up at The Gorge next month, Capitol Hill Block Party just announced its lineup for July, and Bumbershoot tickets are on sale! The early bird sale is almost over, so make sure to get your tickets before prices go up! This year, the event will be held Friday through Sunday of Labor Day Weekend instead of Saturday through Monday in past years. This is an awesome shift so we will have Sunday to rest and recover before heading back to work/school on Tuesday!

Taste Washington returned last weekend with four exciting days of tastings, experiences, eating, learning and more from March 31st – April 3rd. It is the largest single-region wine and food event in the United States and attracted thousands of wine and food enthusiasts to the Seattle area. Over 225 Washington wineries, 65 restaurants, local and national chefs, were a part of Taste Washington weekend. We had the chance to attend the Grand Tasting at CenturyLink Field Event Center on Sunday.

Madison’s quintessential pizza is now available on the hill.

Ian’s Pizza on the Hill opened last fall and offers pizza by the slice, whole pies, delivery, and beer and wine. Located in Zpizza’s old location on Broadway, this smaller chain or “pizza collective” from Madison, Wisconsin is taking familiar ingredients—not commonly used as toppings—and creating new and delicious pizzas. They also offer gluten-free and vegan options.

The world’s first environmentally conscious nose-to-tail pig competition.

In its seventh year, this live-culinary event raises awareness for the responsible farming of heritage breed pigs through eating and drinking. Eating for a cause has never tasted so good. The weekend begins with charity dinners on Friday and Saturday followed by the head-to-toe, nationally celebrated Cochon555 at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel on Sunday afternoon. Five chefs compete with five heritage breed pigs in a friendly competition for a cause. The food is hyper-local; eating for a cause has never tasted so good.
