The classic Fremont eatery introduces a new look and a tasty happy hour menu.

Looking for a new happy hour destination and craving classic, locally-sourced European fare in a comfortable casual neighborhood bistro environment? Then 35th Street Bistro Kitchen + Bar is your go-to-spot in Fremont.

This past March, 35th Street opened its door again after an extensive remodel. With a larger bar, and lounge area, this classy establishment is now the perfect place to socialize and grab a gourmet bite for happy hour.

A stylish event for fashion and compassion.

It’s no secret that Seattleites love fashion and fundraising events — so ladies (and gents) — get ready to strap on your favorite pair of heals (or dress shoes), enjoy some wine, and help support Seattle Children’s Home at the 2nd annual Seattle Wine Women & Shoes Event. In recognition of May as “National Mental Health Month” and “Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week,” Seattleites will  gather for some fashion and compassion.

Plan your day, or night, with our list of tequila and cerveza appreciation activities.

If you haven’t already heard, May 5 falls on a Saturday this year, resulting in a lively array of events to celebrate the 150th anniversary of this festive occasion. Whether you’re planning a family outing with the kids or a night of mezcal-induced mayhem with your peers–or maybe both!–there is plenty going on to fit everyone’s schedules.

Western clothing goes retro!

Designers put a twist on Western wear and transport us to the Southwest with Navajo belts, moccasins, tribal prints and vintage washes.  Asos, UK’s largest independent online fashion and beauty retailer (provides free shipping and returns), recently premiered their Men’s Spring/Summer 2012 look book where they embraced this Southwestern trend.  Their “Laurel Canyon” line – a modern take on 1970’s and Western clothing – is tailored, affordable and relevant to this season’s runways.

Whet your appetite with crab – and more crab.

As a Seattle native and an avid food lover (the reason I workout), I am excited to introduce a new Seattleite column that is dedicated to food and all its glory — “Food Porn” will showcase restaurant openings, off the beaten-path eateries and restaurants you need to have on your “list”, as well as an ample supply of food porn photos for you to drool over.
