The Seattleite team weigh-in on their foodie must-haves!

We are blessed to be in a city with a bountiful variety of grubalicious food, but only a few lucky establishments have made the cut as one of our “March Foodie Madness” dishes.  Choosing the city’s best dishes wasn’t an easy task, and all of us at Seattleite have our own favorites. Here’s a list of our team’s must-haves and why they are obsessed!

Hama Hama Oysters and Taylor Shellfish make one hot duo for a pairing extravaganza.

Seattle is a hotbed of oyster activity. I could probably pen a weekly column dedicated to the beautiful bivalves, but since they are amongst the sexiest of all sexy foods, for now news of them resides here. This week there is a lot to tell. I had the great fortune to attend an oyster and wine tasting that featured oysters from Hama Hama Oyster Company as well as Taylor Shellfish.

A Seattle institution provokes classic pairings by matching red wine with seafood.

Ray’s Boathouse tried to burn down twice. Once in 1987 and again in 1997, only three days prior to the decade anniversary of the first fire, the flame and ash that brought Ray’s Boathouse to the pier could only keep it there for a few months. Each time, the restaurant team and the community helped to bring the Seattle icon back to its feet to even bigger success than it had in its first run.
