Getting to know this happenin’ zone’s waterside parks + trendsetting patios.

Ask any Vancouver resident their thoughts on Yaletown, a thriving neighborhood along the south side of downtown’s peninsula, and he or she likely has an opinion. Whether it’s a destination for weekend spin classes, a celebratory night on the town or simply enjoying some of the best people-watching around, it’s clear that this chic zone is a place to “see and be seen.”

The Grand Canyon is one of the most recognizable National Parks in the United States with its distinguished layered bands of red rock. Formed over millions of years, the Canyon runs 10 miles across and a mile deep. After plenty of research and a successful five-day trip, here are some of my tips and a few pictures (though these don’t do it justice). Honestly, you need to put it on your list—I can’t put into words how magnificent and stunning it is to experience in person.

Going behind the scenes of one of the world’s most admirable professions.

Sometimes we forget that there are so many heroes in our midst—folks quietly going about daily duties that save lives and positively impact our immediate community and the world beyond. These hardworking souls are brave, wise, kind, humble and stronger than often seems humanly possible.

We recently spoke with one such Seattleite—Jodie David, a nurse in the Supportive and Palliative Care service at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. We are so grateful for her work and wanted to share her story with you.

If you haven’t heard of Osoyoos, British Columbia before, you’re not the only one. We didn’t hear about Osoyoos until Devour! Canada’s only desert climate produces some dank-ass wine (yes, we said it) that gives Washington state a run for its money. Devour! Osoyoos brought us five hours northeast of the border to partake in a delectable celebration of some of British Columbia’s top chefs, wineries, and filmmakers in a spectacular weekend getaway experience.

Women traditionally are often caregivers and nurturers and sometimes care for everyone else’s needs before our own. However, recent studies are indicating that self-love needs to be a high priority. Stress and negative emotions have damaging effects on the body, both physically and mentally. Our immune systems can be weakened and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and inflammation throughout the body. This can cause headaches, nausea, and inability to sleep. We may be left feeling incapable of accomplishing routine tasks, feeling emotionally unsteady, or suffering from more serious levels of anxiety and depression.

Main Street Drivers provides transportation service that has perfected the “your car + our driver” concept and can create a package for each and every client need. Their professional driver service launched in the Western Washington region earlier this year. The focus is on the greater Seattle area and suburbs, including popular wine destinations including Seattle Urban Wineries and Woodinville Wine Country. We recently had the opportunity to try out the service firsthand.
