All Food Market at South Lake Union Saturday Market Weekly

It’s how Seattle does Saturday brunch.

There are always a variety of food trucks during weekday lunches at near Amazon, at Redmond’s Microsoft campus, and scattered throughout the city. However, if you don’t work in those areas, you might miss out on some of the city’s more innovative and gourmet food. Seattle’s All Food Market is in it’s new location at 9th and Denny. Restaurant Radar: Introducing Pintxo’s New Chef David Haight and the Summer Menu

Pintxo (pronounced peen-cho) is a Spanish Tapas Bar located in the heart of Belltown. Pintxo’s micro-kitchen, smaller than most food truck kitchens, produces a vast array of Basque small bites from traditional favorites to modern takes on the traditional dishes from various culinary regions of Spain, including San Sebastian, Barcelona and Madrid. Originally from the PNW, Chef de Cuisine David Haight joined the Pintxo team last month after training in Oregon and working in Vancouver (BC), Napa (CA), and Woodinville at Willows Lodge.

In the Know: Snoqualmie Casino Announces 2016 Summer Concert Series

Snoqualmie Casino’s 2016 Summer Concert Series kicks off July 3, 2016. Over the course of two months, Snoqualmie Casino will host musical acts such as Kool and the Gang, Kansas, Blondie, Huey Lewis and the News, and Olivia Newton-John. The Summer Concert Series will return this year to the outdoor Mountain View Plaza with expansive views of Snoqualmie Valley, Mount Si, and the Cascades. The 1,500 seat venue features a beer garden, full bar, a variety of dinner options including pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, pizza and salads. and free parking.

For the first time in 40 years, our beloved Pike Place Market is growing with the “MarketFront,” which should be ready for the public in spring 2017 The Market-centric expansion will reclaim an underutilized surface parking lot on Western Avenue, and create a dynamic public plaza with views of Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains, table space for farmers, craftspeople and artisan purveyors, retail space, low-income housing, a neighborhood center and parking.

Capitol Hill Block Party Reveals Full Lineup and Schedule, Single Day Tickets on Sale Today

Today, Capitol Hill Block Party (CHBP) announced the full lineup and daily schedule for their 20th anniversary event July 22-24. Rapper Mick Jenkins and Sub Pop Records artist Washed Out, who recorded the theme song to the popular IFC series Portlandia, are among the new additions. A limited number of single day passes went on sale beginning today.

Weekend Wanderings: Orcas Island

Orcas Island, nicknamed “the gem of the San Juans”, had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend—a lovely downtown to shop and eat, a stunning shoreline, beautiful lakes, and walking, hiking, and biking trails. There are plenty of lodging options: you can camp, stay in a cabin, yurt, at a resort, or book an airbnb. Once on the island, you can take the ferry to visit the other islands for free, including San Juan Island (Friday Harbor), Lopez Island, and Shaw Island.

Restaurant Radar: Naka Serves an Impressive Japanese Kaiseki Meal

Chef Shota Nakajima served a standout meal bringing Seattle its first traditional kaiseki-style Japanese restaurant. The overall experience at Naka is one of the best in recent memory. The atmosphere is modern, with light music playing in the background, and only a half-full dining area. The chic bar was busier than the dining room on the weeknight we visited, but gets fully booked on the weekend.
