Our neighboring state of Idaho is a little big state that feels like living on the frontier—and it’s an exciting time on the frontier. Downtown Boise is hosting their annual Treefort Music Festival where over 400 bands within Treasure Valley or as far as Western Europe, the Middle East, and Australia have come. Along with the festival, you can explore their collection of “fort” experiences ranging from comedy, films, performance art, tech, yoga, food+brews and more!

Located in the Four Seasons downtown with a view of the Seattle Great Wheel and Elliot Bay, Goldfinch Tavern has a prime location. The atmosphere is classy and ideal for date night or an intimate dinner with friends and family. In our experience, hotel restaurants can be hit or miss, but we came with slightly higher expectations since Goldfinch is a partnership with Ethan Stowell restaurants complimented by Four Seasons service.

The forecast is calling for rain—and possibly some snow showers—for the next 15 days. Whether you’re a native Seattleite or a transplant, you’ve probably learned that you need some serious inner happiness (and maybe the assistance of a happy light and vitamin D) to get through Seattle’s soggy winters. I still remember anxiously going to bed and waking up early to peek outside to see if snow had really fallen (per Seattle forecast—often wrong) and if school would be cancelled. I’d turn on the TV and watch as the schools scrolled by—would we have a delay or even better—would we get a snow day?! This mix of anticipation and joy is something that we don’t get as often anymore… until today!

Having great hair can make any day better.

If you’re not familiar, “blowouts” are simple treatments that include a wash and style. Stylists can make your hair wavy, voluminous, or straight. Blow dry bars in Seattle haven’t caught on the way they have in Los Angeles and New York and we’re not sure why—it is a lovely experience having someone wash, dry, and style your hair. At 30% of what a haircut would cost, it leaves you feeling glamorous with event-ready hair that you didn’t have to do yourself!
