Agrodolce Cooks Up PNW-Infused Seasonal Menu


While I’ve had plenty of good PNW-inspired fare in Seattle, including top-notch wine offerings, my recent dinner at Agrodolce was really special. From the outstanding entree options to the welcoming and knowledgeable staff and the exquisite wine, Agrodolce stands out.

Agrodolce’s menu inspired by Italy’s coastal cuisine just kicked off a refreshed, PNW-infused seasonal menu from James Beard Award-winning chef-owner Maria Hines alongside Agrodolce executive chef Thomas Litrenta.

During my recent visit, we opted for Piemonte Regional Family Style dining; a three course assortment based on the whims of the chefs with wine pairings from the region.

We started with their House Made Focaccia, baked just a few hours before (pro tip: go to Agrodolce for their weekend brunch to enjoy the week’s leftover focaccia as french toast bites!). Our first course also included an incredibly fresh mixed green salad with small-batch strawberries that had arrived at Agrodolce just that morning.

We then enjoyed the Cauliflower Sformato with truffles and pesto. I have never enjoyed cauliflower so much in my life! It was incredibly rich and flavorful. I could have stopped here and been happy with the meal, but Chef Litrenta was just getting started. Next up was a dish of Charred Broccolini, grana padano cheese, and anchovies. Our dining neighbors leaned over to ask what we ordered, looking enviously at everything on our table. 

Our next course featured fresh Handmade Pasta with flour that was milled in-house. The pasta was paired with Taylor Shellfish mussels and clams, heirloom tomatoes, and a light sauce with just the right amount of spice. Our final course was the Surf and Turf with a side dish of charred garlic shoots. The ‘surf’ featured pan seared wild-caught salmon and the ‘turf’ was beef in a barbaresco reduction. This is the best surf and turf I’ve had in Seattle.

For dessert we enjoyed an Orange Cream Gelato with candied orange and gianduja (a hazelnut-based chocolate confection), the perfectly sweet and light ending to a delicious meal.

I cannot recommend Agrodolce enough. While the food is enough to bring me back, our interactions with the staff sealed the deal. I look forward to our next visit to Agrodolce in the near future. Reservations are recommended.

Agrodolce is open Monday through Friday for lunch from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm and for brunch on the weekend from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. Happy Hour is served between 5:00 and 6:30 pm daily. Dinner is served Sunday through Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Friday and Saturday from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
