The eclectic French producer/DJ duo Polo & Pan made a stop in Seattle for the very first time on December 13th, as a part of their North American tour. Polo & Pan is a Paris-based electronic music production and DJ duo, comprised of Paul Armand “Polocorp” Delille, and Alexandre “Peter Pan” Grynszpan. Dubbed as the descendants of the Daft Punk electro scene, Polo & Pan are also known for producing remixes for famed international acts Fakear and Calypso Rose.
Originally from The UK, Gina Yashere broke onto the American comedy scene on NBC’s Last Comic Standing where she made it to the final 10 and never went back home! Since then she’s been named a Top 10 rising talent by the Hollywood Reporter and become the British correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
As Return to Mount Kennedy continues to make its way to festivals around the world including a February 2019 screening at the Boulder International Film Festival and a March 2019 screening at the DCEFF – the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital. The team behind the film including Jim Whittaker, Leif Whittaker, Bob Whittaker, Eric Becker, and Eddie Vedder (who contributed original music to the documentary) are gathering together again on December 9th for a special Seattle screening of Return to Mount Kennedy at the iconic Seattle Cinerama.
The Cloud Room, a coworking and cultural venue located in bustling Capitol Hill, recently announced that the creative team behind the new film Thin Skin will base their production headquarters in the Cloud Room’s workspace. The Cloud Room has become a cultural hub since its opening 3 years ago and has carefully curated civic and cultural programming to not only augment its business members’ daytime experience but to provide a space for conversations and creativity to happen.

As an avid fan of both cooking at home and exploring Seattle’s vibrant restaurant scene, I was stoked to learn of Julien Perry’s new cookbook, Seattle Cooks. Featuring 80 never-before-published recipes from 40 of the city’s best restaurants, Seattle Cooks opens the door for some of your favorite meals to come home.
When I read The Kite Runner for the first time, I was in awe. The story painted a picture of what life might be like for fathers and sons in war-torn Afghanistan and it was of course heartbreaking. But as a writer, I was inspired by author Khaled Hosseini’s character development, and uncanny ability to draw readers in and empathize with the protagonist—even after he stepped aside and allowed his best friend to be raped.
The 14th Annual Great Pumpkin Beer Festival (GPBF) is quickly becoming one of the first signs of the fall season for many Seattleites. Supported by Elysian Brewing and hosted at the Seattle Center, this two-day pumpkin-packed event quickly sold out, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
