Not to be missed this week: Alfresco tunes at Woodland Park Zoo.

We can think of no better way to spend an August evening than listening to live tunes under the summer sky. Seeking plans for this week? Well, this suggestion might just be music to your ears. While many ZooTunes shows sold out early, tickets remain for Tuesday and Wednesday (August 2nd and 3rd), and Pink Martini promises to put on a fun and dazzling show. Pack a picnic, and we’ll see you in the field!

Paseo, the very popular and seriously delicious, nationally renowned Caribbean sandwich shop in Fremont, is expanding to SoDo with the grand opening of its 1760 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA location (on the corner of Holgate St & 1st Ave S) today from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Located at the center of Seattle’s sports core by CenturyLink and Safeco Fields, the former diner space (Donna’s Diner & Mac’s Smokehouse…both listed on the current sign until Paseo’s new sign goes up), was leased from developer Chris Hansen.

If you’re with us, we’d love to strongly urge you—music lovers in particular—to make a really smart move to further enhance your summer. If you don’t yet have plans for next weekend (August 5-7); grab tickets to Pickathon before they’re gone. This gem of a gathering will forever raise your festival-going bar, and that’s not a promise we make lightly.

Magnolia Summerfest has been a community event, sponsored by the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce, for over 50 years, and a Seafair Community Event since 1985!  The festival includes the annual Art Show, the annual Merchants’ Sidewalk Sale, live music, food vendors, arts and crafts booths, pony rides, inflatable rides, clowns and magicians, and a beer garden. And, of course, the Seafair Parade and Kid’s Parade.

As always, it falls on the last weekend of July from Wednesday, July 27th through Sunday, July 31st.

Marée Bistro & Bar opened in February this year with a gorgeous waterfront view of Alki beach. Marée means ‘the tide’ in French, named after its location and inspired by the seasonality of the Northwest. Chef Andy Dekle sources sustainably raised and harvested meat, game, shellfish, fish and produce from nearby purveyors. Aspects of the menu change often, because truly seasonal is fleeting at certain times of the year and with certain products; other menu items change with the time of the year.
