Western clothing goes retro!

Designers put a twist on Western wear and transport us to the Southwest with Navajo belts, moccasins, tribal prints and vintage washes.  Asos, UK’s largest independent online fashion and beauty retailer (provides free shipping and returns), recently premiered their Men’s Spring/Summer 2012 look book where they embraced this Southwestern trend.  Their “Laurel Canyon” line – a modern take on 1970’s and Western clothing – is tailored, affordable and relevant to this season’s runways.

Spring is out in full force in Seattle and with it, the opportunity to eat and drink all manner of lovely things apropos of more gentle weather. Of course it’s also a time when we all wish we could stretch our wings and fly off to some far-flung global destination, but if your job and responsibilities don’t allow you to flee the floods just yet, why not bring the world to your fingertips in the form of libations and nosh?

A verbal throwdown to determine who’ll compete at the National Poetry Slam.

When you hear the word “throwdown,” poetry isn’t generally what comes to mind.  But at Seattle Poetry Slam’s Annual Grand Slam, slam poets from all over Seattle will be using their words as fists in a battle to determine who will make the four-member team to represent our city at the National Poetry Slam this summer in Charlotte, NC.
