Housed in the Palihotel, The Hart and The Hunter brings Southern-inspired food and upscale diner vibes to the Pike Place Market area. Palihotel Seattle is Palisociety’s first property outside of Los Angeles, and the brand’s second outpost of its signature The Hart and The Hunter restaurant. The four-story property that houses the hotel and restaurant was originally the Colonnade Hotel at its inception in 1900.

Pike Place Market’s second annual Wednesday Evening Farmers Market will kick off on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 giving downtown shoppers the opportunity to enjoy the long summer evenings while shopping for fresh produce and supporting local farmers. Along with the Evening Market, Pike Place Market will host four weekly farmers markets throughout downtown starting Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

A preview of upcoming concerts, fests + awesome happenings.

If we squint past the dizzying haze of gray, we finally see summer approaching, and we are so stinkin’ ready to welcome it with wide-open, sun-deprived arms. You too? Before we even get there, though, there’s an intriguing lineup of events that has our curiosity piqued. Pull out your iCalendar; it’s time to get plotting.

Feast on the bounty of the season.

If you live in Seattle, you know that the arrival of certain coveted items can make headlines, sending food lovers into an excited tizzy. In May, for example, city-wide restaurants and vendors (like Pure Food Fish Market in Pike Place) released announcements heralding the much-anticipated arrival of Wild Alaskan Copper River Salmon. (Fun fact: Alaska is the source of nearly 60% of the seafood harvested in America, including 90% of its wild salmon.)

PROJECT OVERVIEW

For the first time in 40 years, our beloved Pike Place Market is growing with the “MarketFront,” which should be ready for the public in spring 2017 The Market-centric expansion will reclaim an underutilized surface parking lot on Western Avenue, and create a dynamic public plaza with views of Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains, table space for farmers, craftspeople and artisan purveyors, retail space, low-income housing, a neighborhood center and parking.

Mother’s Day is a little less than three weeks away so it’s time to start planning what you’re going to do for the irreplaceable special lady in your life. There are definitely gifts you can get her (gift guide coming soon), brunches, and dinners to take her to, but how about spending some quality time with mom? If she’s in the Seattle area, here are some fun ideas she might love.

Come light up your night and taste some of the best food and drinks the Seattle Area has to offer from local artisans at the historical Pike Place Market. There will also be Entertainment and an Instant-Win Raffle this year! The Arcade Lights event raises money to help continue some of our programming, right here in the Marketplace Community.
