Owner and Esthetician Erika Kennedy provides an array of services including waxing, tinting for brows and lashes, custom facials, lash extensions, and microblading. Erika recently welcomed Rebecca Reali who is a massage therapist trained in Swedish, Ayurvedic, deep tissue, aromatherapy and bamboo massage. Located in downtown on 5th Avenue, street parking is hard to find and nearby parking garages are pricey—walking, busing, or taking a Lyft might be the easiest options.

On Saturday June 24th, we attended the sold-out Santana Transmogrify Tour at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville. Santana is a ten-time GRAMMY® Award and three-time Latin GRAMMY® Award-winning group let by Carlos Santana a true musician, artist and included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Transmogrify tour kicked off at Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville on June 23rd and 24th, where Santana performed soul-filled music and Latin beats from their forty years of making music including hits from the 60s, 70s, and 90s popular hits from their album Supernatural and beyond.

A can’t-miss, low-maintenance weekend of fun, music, nature + community.

Now that 4th festivities have come and gone, it’s time to plan for our next big adventure. Timber! Outdoor Music Festival, we’re looking at you. Next weekend—July 13 through 15—a much-anticipated community gathering is calling your (and our!) names, beckoning music lovers of all ages to Carnation (just 30 miles from Seattle), where awesome summertime tunes come to a tranquil, wooded setting.

I first discovered 400 Fairview in South Lake Union when I went to visit the Kai Market’s grand opening in early MayUwajimaya’s new boutique concept store. Market Hall on the ground floor of the 400 Fairview building is a food and retail experience with different shops, bakeries, restaurants, and cafes. It has a similar feel to Melrose Market in Capitol Hill, with an open and welcoming space for browsing, gathering, and dining. Here’s a rundown of what 400 Fairview has to offer.

BEER CAMP THIS FRIDAY

Looking for weekend plans? Beer Camp is calling your name. Presented by the Hop Growers of America, Sierra Nevada’s annual extravaganza (the country’s largest craft beer festival), hosts events in eight U.S. cities this month,  landing in Gas Works Park this Friday, June 30. The festive event welcomes more than 90 local and national breweries in addition to some of the city’s best food trucks, musicians and entertainers.

Getting to know this happenin’ zone’s waterside parks + trendsetting patios.

Ask any Vancouver resident their thoughts on Yaletown, a thriving neighborhood along the south side of downtown’s peninsula, and he or she likely has an opinion. Whether it’s a destination for weekend spin classes, a celebratory night on the town or simply enjoying some of the best people-watching around, it’s clear that this chic zone is a place to “see and be seen.”

The Grand Canyon is one of the most recognizable National Parks in the United States with its distinguished layered bands of red rock. Formed over millions of years, the Canyon runs 10 miles across and a mile deep. After plenty of research and a successful five-day trip, here are some of my tips and a few pictures (though these don’t do it justice). Honestly, you need to put it on your list—I can’t put into words how magnificent and stunning it is to experience in person.

Going behind the scenes of one of the world’s most admirable professions.

Sometimes we forget that there are so many heroes in our midst—folks quietly going about daily duties that save lives and positively impact our immediate community and the world beyond. These hardworking souls are brave, wise, kind, humble and stronger than often seems humanly possible.

We recently spoke with one such Seattleite—Jodie David, a nurse in the Supportive and Palliative Care service at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. We are so grateful for her work and wanted to share her story with you.
