The seventh annual event will be held Friday and Saturday, September 9-10 at the South Lake Union Discovery Center Lawn. Cider Summit Seattle celebrates local, regional and international artisanal ciders and cidermakers, including dozens from the Pacific Northwest and ciders from at least five states and five countries.

It features more than 40 of the state’s distilleries in collaboration with 15 local restaurants and food purveyors for savory bites and sweet treats. Here you will find a sampling of Washington’s up and coming, as well as established, distilleries proudly displayed by the fine crafts folk who made them. If you find something you really like, you’ll be able to purchase it directly from the distillery table!
Tom Douglas and his flagship restaurant Dahlia Lounge are excited to announce that tickets are now available for the 2016 Lawn Party & Croquet Tournament. In its fifth year, this event is open to the public and will be held on Sunday, August 14 at the South Lake Union Discovery Center. A benefit for Food Lifeline, this year’s event looks to surpass last year’s fundraising goal of $100,000. With support from generous sponsors and from croquet teams and spectator tickets, the event hopes to raise over $150,000.

Every first Thursday of each month all year, Seattle (and the surrounding area) celebrates art and history by offering free admission! Who doesn’t like doing things for free? Here’s a list that you can check out this Thursday, July 7th or next month on Thursday, August 4th, or every month after that. The Museum of Glass in Tacoma (worth the drive) is free the third Thursday of the month from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

Late spring is on its way and we’re well on our way to summer. Maybe I’ve said this every year and I’ll say it again—this year has really flown by! Here’s a guide to some of my favorite hikes in the North Bend / Snoqualmie region, about 40 minutes east on I-90 from Seattle.
The two-day, all ages and free The Ballard SeafoodFest began in 1974 as a community celebration of Ballard’s historic connection to the fishing industry and the neighborhood’s Nordic roots. Today, this festival attracts over 65,000 people who come to enjoy the traditional salmon barbecue and much more: local music, arts and crafts, family entertainment, a beer garden, a skate event, and yes – more seafood! The event is Saturday, July 9: 11:00 am – 10:00 pm and Sunday, July 10: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm.
