It feels like summer finally arrived last week and we’re already mid-August! While enjoying the last few weeks (or hopefully another month) of this blissful weather, pumpkin season is upon us. Seattle-born brewery Elysian Brewing Company, announces the release of Great Pumpkin Imperial Pumpkin Ale, Dark o’ the Moon Pumpkin Stout, and Punkuccino Coffee Pumpkin Ale. This trio of unique fall brews join Elysian’s first pumpkin release of the season, Night Owl Pumpkin Ale. Using only the best pumpkins in the Pacific Northwest,
Seattle’s largest, locally produced brunch event, Bacon, Eggs & Kegs is returning for its third and biggest event Saturday and Sunday, August 27-28 at CenturyLink Field from 11 am – 3 pm! We’ve attended the past two events and it’s not to be missed. We love the demos, photobooth (in a giant inflatable skillet!), and all the tasty brunch dishes. The Bloody Mary bar is like nothing we’ve ever seen before!
Get your pretzel necklaces ready for the South Sound’s celebration of beer and blues as it makes it way to Downtown Tacoma for its 4th year, packed with a great lineup of blues artists for your musical entertainment! This Saturday, August 13th, 30+ breweries and cideries, alongside six food vendors will provide the goods for a stellar block party experience. Anticipating a sold-out event, organizers at the Broadway Center have limited the capacity for the fest this year to provide the best experience for festival-goers and vendors alike.
In this edition of Dog Days, we seek the answer to the common question, ‘Is it safe to leave your dog in a parked car in the summer?’ I know my dog would much rather sit in the car than at home by herself, but this option can be deadly! Even though this summer has been relatively mild, especially compared to last summer, even a temperature as low as 72 degrees can be dangerous! The forecast for the rest of the week predicts high 70’s.
Flap your tail feathers with Johnny Boy and the Flamingo cast at the Can Can

As this is not the first time I’ve raved about a Seattle burlesque show, you might find it surprising that I’ve never made my way over to the Can Can. The ever popular haunt deep in the belly of Pike Place market has always been on my list of Seattle must sees, and I’m happy to report their performance did not disappoint.
Ahh, the joys of summer. August is in full swing and what’s better than sunshine, booty-shakin’ music, and delicious grilled food? It’s BBQ season! Dirtybird started with a grill and some speakers in Golden Gate Park 10+ years ago. They’ve hosted a lot of park parties and 2016 will have real BBQ fare, games and fan-fun contests. It’s set to be the best one yet! Dirtybird arrives in Seattle on Sunday, August 14th from 2:00 – 9:00 pm at the Seattle Center.
If you’re thinking about visiting Victoria this summer, now is the time! Here are some fun events and activities for the rest of summer! The flowers are in full bloom and the streets are filled with people from all around the world. My favorite way to get there is via the Victoria Clipper, boarding from Pier 69 near Olympic Sculpture Park. Park at the Bell Street Garage for $10/day and walk onto the passenger-only ship for a scenic 2 hour and 45 minute ride. You can make it a day, overnight, or weekend trip.
Fitz & The Tantrums Get Right Back Summer Tour comes to Seattle
Summer is getting outside and enjoying our one-of-a-kind Seattle weather as often as possible. Outdoor music festivals, BBQs, bonfires, and camping and hiking are just a few of our quintessential summer pastimes. This year has gotten off to a slow start, but the 70 to 80 degree weather the past couple of weeks is hands down better than the 90+ degree weather last year. Come celebrate the last month of summer with a concert on the lawn in King County’s largest, oldest, and most popular park! Fitz & The Tantrums are playing a show in Seattle (more specifically, Redmond) on Saturday, August 20th and amazingly, there are still some tickets left!
